Cable Zip Ties and Static Electricity?

I have a lot of knowledge in repairing and building computers, and wish to give a small upgrade in my computers to better the airflow. I went down to the dollar store and bought a pack of 100 multi-colored zip ties, and on the way home, realized static electricity may be a problem. Does anyone know if these plastic zip ties will have a problem with static, and if so, will something like a static cloth, or dryer sheet fix the problem?

  1. I've never heard of them being a problem - they are used in most all electronics. I guess during installation they could be, but if you are wearing a ground strap, then all should be OK
  2. If you are simply zip tying cords to get them out of the way, it will not be an issue.
  3. nasa uses zip ties in air craft because they contain no metals. no metals = no static. you might get residual friction but that carrys no electrical current
  4. No, they should not be a problem, as long as they are plastic, and not touching anything but wires and the computer case, and you wear a wrist strap, or use a ground mat, but you probably know that right? (not trying to be rude). I have never heard of them being an ESD threat. (I would trim off the excess of the ties, and dispose of them so that they aren't flying around in the case to get stuck in a case fan or CPU fan...)
